My dream of having backyard Urban Chickens has come true! I was born and raised on a farm, and I wanted my son to have that farm experience, knowing where his food comes from, some animal husbandry skills, and the fun of raising chickens! I completed a lot of research on building a City of Edmonton approved Chicken Coop, that would meet all their requirements, be appropriate for Northern Alberta’s harsh winters, and one that was also stylish. I found drafting out my own coop too overwhelming, and I didn’t have a tonne of spare time to dedicate hours on end in the evenings and weekends to build one.

 

Enter Urban Coops! Nicola and her amazing team Ed and Lee made my dream a reality, and I feel a sense of fulfillment having hens and some urban farming back in my life! From initially contacting Nicola, getting an accurate building quote, her professionalism and promptness on answering my plethora of questions, I knew I made the right choice with Urban Coops. The set up and build was painstakingly easy!
